Liquid Management Systems - always meeting the standards
Liquid management systems reflect the interdisciplinary systems competence in various technology areas which is characteristic for MAHLE. Indeed almost no other area of engine construction has had to adapt to so many technical engine requirements in the past few years as the treatment of lubricants and fuels.

With lubricants, new light running oils with greater dirt absorption capacities are increasingly used to reduce hydraulic losses. At the same time, new combustion processes with high-pressure injection in diesel engines lead to an increase in the lubricant contamination as a result of soot particles in the blow-by. With fuels, the same injection systems require significantly higher separating degrees - owing to restricted production tolerances and improved surface properties for pumps and nozzles, which have to achieve a more exact modulation of the injection process. The use of biologically degradable hydraulic oils in automobiles requires new solutions in hydraulic filtration. The increasing use of alternative fuels demands further innovations in the development of filter media, and the trend toward "downsizing" has considerable impact on the lubricating oil circuit.
