MAHLE produces camshafts fully-finished and as castings. The majority of these camshafts are manufactured in either gray or chilled ductile iron. In order to achieve weight reduction objectives, camshafts can be supplied with either a cylindrical or profiled hollow bore.

Our composite camshaft is a unique product. A precision ground tube is utilized as the base, onto which, precision lobes are assembled. Thus, the need for any further machining is eliminated. A further advantage is provided by using a precision ground tube of journal quality, eliminating the need to add journals to the assembly. Finished profile powder metal lobes require no machining, especially when concave lobes are specified.
