MAHLE acquires majority holding in diagnostics specialist BrainBee

Stuttgart, May 22, 2018 – The MAHLE Group has increased its holding in BrainBee, an automotive workshop equipment specialist, to 80 percent of the company’s shares. After a strategic minority holding of 20 percent was agreed in September 2017, MAHLE Aftermarket is now taking another important step toward becoming a solutions provider. With this majority acquisition, MAHLE Aftermarket is significantly expanding its European presence in the area of equipment and services for workshops.

Stuttgart, April 25, 2018 – The MAHLE Group continued to grow steadily in the 2017 business year. With significant organic growth of 6.4 percent, MAHLE has further expanded its market position. In 2017, group sales rose by 3.8 percent to EUR 12.8 billion.

Withdrawal from joint venture: MAHLE plans to sell HBPO shares to Plastic Omnium

Stuttgart, March 1, 2018 – The MAHLE Group intends to sell its shares in the joint venture Hella Behr Plastic Omnium (HBPO) to fellow shareholder Plastic Omnium. The two parties signed an agreement effective today, Thursday, March 1, 2018. MAHLE is thus consistently pursuing its plan to focus on its strategic core business.

MAHLE Supervisory Board appoints Dr. Jörg Stratmann as the new Chairman of the Management Board and CEO

Stuttgart/Germany, January 31, 2018 – As of February 1, the new CEO of MAHLE, the fourth-largest German automotive supplier with sales of around EUR 13 billion and 77,000 employees, will be Dr. Jörg Stratmann. When ZF Friedrichshafen AG and Wolf-Henning Scheider, Chairman of the MAHLE Management Board until the end of January, both expressed the desire for a change, the MAHLE Group was able to resolve the matter swiftly.

MAHLE honors its best suppliers

Stuttgart, October 13, 2017 – MAHLE honored its best suppliers during its first Supplier Convention on October 12. Seven award winners were recognized for their outstanding achievements in six categories. MAHLE CEO Wolf-Henning Scheider presented the awards to the winners, together with his Management Board colleagues, Bernd Eckl, Wilhelm Emperhoff, and Dr. Jörg Stratmann. The 120 international suppliers in attendance at the inaugural MAHLE Supplier Convention gained a number of key insights into MAHLE and the company’s prospects for the future.

Stuttgart, September 11, 2017 – The MAHLE Group has agreed on a strategic minority participation in Brain Bee, a manufacturer of automotive workshop equipment. MAHLE acquires a 20-percent participation in Brain Bee. MAHLE is thereby expanding its expertise in vehicle diagnostics, emission management, air conditioning service, and fluid management. MAHLE Aftermarket is thus driving forward its development as a solutions provider and strengthening its presence in the field of workshop equipment and services, particularly in the European market.

Optimization of the combustion engine reduces CO2 emissions by up to six percent

Stuttgart, August 28, 2017 – MAHLE proves its holistic systems competence by further tapping the potential of the internal combustion engine. Two approaches for the basic engine are optimizing friction and preventing oil from entering the combustion chamber. CO2 emissions can be reduced by up to six percent (WLTC) with MAHLE technologies for optimized mechanics and lubrication in gasoline engines. These measures also demonstrate a sustainable impact on emissions and consumption in actual driving operation. MAHLE will showcase specific solutions for the optimization of the combustion engine at IAA Cars 2017 from September 14 to 24, 2017 in Frankfurt/Germany.

Balancing heat and cold for improved cruising range, performance, and comfort in electric vehicles

Stuttgart, May 24, 2017 – MAHLE’s takeover of electronics specialist Nagares SA, announced in March 2017, is now complete. Following approval by the antitrust authorities, the Spanish company will now be integrated into the group.

MAHLE positions itself for the future

Stuttgart, April 26, 2017 – The MAHLE Group increased its sales to around EUR 12.3 billion in the 2016 business year, which corresponds to growth of more than seven percent. “Our 2016 business year was heavily characterized by the implementation of our dual strategy for the parallel development of combustion engine and e-mobility products,” said Wolf-Henning Scheider, Chairman of the MAHLE Management Board and CEO, during the press conference on the Financial Statements in Stuttgart/Germany.

Stuttgart/Vienna, January 30, 2017 – The MAHLE Group is selling its forging activities—MAHLE Motorkomponenten GmbH—to the Austrian Frauenthal Group. Both parties have agreed not to disclose the volume of the transaction, which is still subject to approval by the antitrust authorities.

Bosch and MAHLE plan sale of joint turbocharger business BMTS

Stuttgart/Germany, January 23, 2017 – The Bosch Group and the MAHLE Group have decided to seek a buyer for their joint venture, Bosch Mahle Turbo Systems (BMTS). The joint subsidiary was founded in 2008. With a total of around 1,400 employees, it develops and produces turbochargers for manufacturers of passenger cars and commercial vehicles. Production is largely based in St. Michael/Austria and in Shanghai/China. In Germany, BMTS also has a presence at two further locations in Stuttgart and Blaichach. Thanks to the technology used in their production and their high quality, BMTS products have an excellent reputation in the automotive industry. They have received numerous industry awards.
